JoMo is "The Natural Choice" for Joint Nutrition
JoMo was developed on the foundation of providing maximum health benefits while providing advanced strength joint relief and cartilage support. When formulating JoMo our mission was to create the most natural product possible with no additives, artificial colors or flavors and using non-GMO glucosamine. We also avoided those ingredients that did not sit with our Company Philosophy of maximum overall wellness and health benefits as well as providing pain support without the side effects of NSAIDs or other over the counter anti-Inflammatory drugs.
JoMo uses all natural ingredients and is "The Natural Choice" for those people truly concerned about their health and what they put into their bodies.
What Price For Your Health?
At JoMo, we don't claim to be the cheapest joint relief formula but we do claim to be the best, most natural product. Cheap more often than not means fillers as well as other ingredients inconsistent with the stated label and ingredients. Our founders and principals have all suffered major diseases in some form in their life and have realized that when it comes to health, there is no substitute for quality and getting the best ingredients possible. When you are ill and suffering, you do not want to be given low quality products just for the sake of a couple of dollars. That is why we made a number of choices when formulating JoMo. Do we add the best ingredients or the cheapest? The answer was never in doubt. That is why you will not find seafood-based glucosamine in JoMo and no glucosamine made from the shells of crabs, shrimps and other seafood as we had no way to trace the origins of the shellfish and we had personal concerns about seafood allergies, lead and mercury contamination, and overall quality.
In addition, we added one of the most powerful ingredients available to our formulation that is rarely found in other liquid glucosamine formulations, type II collagen. When looking at the research and the potential for joint rehabilitation from type II collagen we decided that we needed to lead the market in promoting type II collagen as a potential precursor of cartilage repair and growth even though that ingredient came at an additional cost. The question was "do we believe that type II collagen can make a difference in supporting joint repair and cartilage growth?" If our JoMo family had the opportunity to get that benefit then we had to include it as we never wanted to be in a position that we did not believe that we were providing all we could to support our clients, customers and patients.
Just as your doctor wouldn't prescribe a low cost drug for your disease, so too the founders of JoMo didn't want to have their patients and customers using a lesser quality product if they knew that they could treat them better! We had to formulate a product we could use personally and that the founders could recommend to patients and nothing but the highest quality ingredients would suffice.
This is the plain and simple truth. Despite all the ingredients and attention to quality, JoMo is still priced at the same level as other products on the market that do not have the same high quality and strength of ingredients.
No Artificial Flavors, Additives or Colors
We don't use any artificial colors or flavors in JoMo and everything we use is clearly detailed on our label and on the bottle. When choosing a joint relief formulation it is extremely important to read the label as well as the fine print to see what is included as there are lots of misleading claims about what exactly goes into a formulation as well as the quality of the testing for ingredients.

JoMo Batch Testing and Certificate of Analysis
All of JoMo's individual formulations are also Batch Tested to ensure that what you are paying for is what you get and that the formulation is in strict compliance with the label and stated ingredients. And all our bottles, when shipped, come with a "Certificate of Analysis" specific to that exact formulation detailing the quality analysis of the formulation specific to your bottle and matched to the individual batch. This is our guarantee to you that you are getting exactly what is printed on the label. We are the only company that we know of that delivers "Certificates of Analysis" to our customers for EVERY batch made when ordering JoMo. Click here to see the JoMo "Certificate of Analysis" archives.
JoMo is clinically tested according to USP standards in a cGMP compliant facility. JoMo's Certificate of Analysis is our guarantee to you of quality you can trust.
We take Batch Testing and Quality Control very seriously. One of the biggest concerns in recent years has been the quality and quantity of ingredients and the lack of consistency of ingredients based on label claims. Indeed ConsumerLabs.com has undertaken a number of tests on supplement quality and shown that there is a significant concern over labeling and levels of ingredients.

Real "Super Fruit" Antioxidants
All of the JoMo Superfruit antioxidants are in the purist, most concentrated form with no added fructose, sucrose, coloring or any other artificial flavors. The color of JoMo is derived from the natural coloring of the pomegranate and cherry "Super Fruit" antioxidants and NOT from any artificial coloring, dyes, or other processes.
Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) of JoMo
JoMo was subject to an independent ORAC valuation for our JoMo Joint Mobility Liquid Glucosamine formulation and was awarded an ORAC value of 32,619 by Brunswick Laboratories, a leading independent testing laboratory. Click here for JoMo Certification of ORAC Value.
"ORAC" means "Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity" and is a measurement of nutrient and antioxidant value in foods and supplements that include antioxidant rich nutrients such as pomegranate and black cherry. The ORAC value is a way of measuring the potential impact on free radicals in the body and hence, the ability of the body to attack inflammation and disease.
JoMo is Ocean Friendly
JoMo is shellfish free and shark cartilage free and is made from the highest quality ingredients on the market. The only animal products are the bovine derived chondroitin and type II collagen from chickens that are the only readily available sources for these ingredients. Our bovine-based chondroitin is also derived from European bovine that are subject to stringent testing procedures for hormones and steroids.
In addition, we use no shark-based products as we fully support the preservation of the oceans and marine life.
Why we don't use Shellfish based Glucosamine
Although it may have been cheaper to use shellfish-based glucosamine we believed that the non-shellfish based glucosamine was of a higher quality and avoided the possibility of allergic reaction and contamination from shellfish based products. When looking at a liquid glucosamine and other joint support products, please be aware of the fine print as most formulations use shellfish based glucosamine, most of which is usually manufactured in or sourced from Asia and made from Chitin (shells of crabs, lobsters and shrimp) that have been found to have levels of mercury and lead contamination. Personally, if you are really concerned about your health, wouldn't you rather ingest a natural, vegetable based glucosamine rather than ingest the ground-up derivative of crab and seafood shells?
JoMo's glucosamine is:
- Shellfish Free
- Vegetable based from 100% natural corn (Non-GMO)
- Iodine Free; Safe for those with iodine allergies
- Free of seafood based contaminents such as lead and mercury
- Batch tested for quality
"Made in the USA"
JoMo is 100% "Made in the USA" to cGMP and USP standards and none of JoMo's ingredients are from countries that do not meet stringent quality control requirements.
Low Carbon Footprint
All JoMo products are formulated in the USA at our centralized formulation plant. Our Fulfillment Center is also located 30 miles from our Manufacturing Plant. This means that we use less energy in the shipping process as we don't have to "double-ship" long distances when sending the product from the manufacturer to the fulfillment center and then on to our customers. In addition, when you receive a bottle of JoMo, all the packaging is in recycled materials and is protected by recycled wrapping, not those foam "peanuts" that are so environmentally damaging. Over time, we will also be looking at what else we can do to reduce our carbon footprint and help the environment.
Concerns over NSAIDs and other Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
There are lots of choices when it comes to treating joint pain and its important to look at all the options and particularly, the long-term health affects. It's easy to take a pain killer and hope for immediate relief but in the long term, you may be doing yourself more harm than good. Most pain killers come under the umbrella of NSAIDs (Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs) that do not have any cartilage-enhancing or joint-strengthening properties at all. NSAIDs don't get to the cause of actual joint pain and merely mask the effects for a short period of time.
What are NSAIDs?
NSAIDs include over-the-counter medications like aspirin, Advil and Motrin (ibuprofen), and Aleve as well as newer, expensive prescription drugs like Celebrex. NSAIDs work by preventing the formation of two specific enzymes. The first variation, called COX 1, helps prevent digestive acids and chemicals from harming the lining of the stomach. This is why a common side effect of aspirin and ibuprofen is an upset stomach. The second variation, called COX 2, is produced when joints are injured or inflamed. The prevention of COX 2 from forming is the reason for the analgesic properties of NSAIDs. Unfortunately, this COX inhibition is also responsible for well-documented side effects, such as stomach pain, ulcer formation, and bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, as well as kidney damage.
Side Effects of NSAIDs
NSAIDs not only worsen kidney or liver problems, but may also trigger asthma and can actually be life-threatening. Evidence suggests NSAIDs also cause peptic and duodenal ulceration, progressing from symptomatic ulcers to bleeding or perforation, even to death.
- NSAIDs should not be used during pregnancy. Aspirin should also be avoided during breast-feeding, and should not be given to children under age 12.
- NSAIDs can cause nausea and indigestion.
- A rash, wheezing or worsening of asthma may be an allergic reaction to NSAIDs in which case you should see a doctor immediately.
- NSAIDs can cause you to retain water. You may notice your ankles swelling.
- NSAIDS can exacerbate heart problems.
- NSAIDs can cause ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and dizziness.
- Some medications become overly effective or too active if patients also take medication for diabetes and depression.
- Steroids themselves increase the risk of stomach irritation, ulcers and gastric bleeding. Using steroids at the same time as NSAIDs can increase the risk of such problems.
- Some anticonvulsants may become overly active when taken with certain NSAIDs and their dose may need to be reduced.
- NSAIDs may "mask" discomfort and pain so the patient may overdo it or increase physical exertion for a period thereby inviting more injury.
NSAIDS can also be Deadly
As early as March of 2000, studies began showing that NSAID patients taking Vioxx were twice as likely to suffer heart attacks and strokes. In 2004, after years of wrangling with the FDA, Vioxx was finally recalled and made unavailable for use.
RECENT FDA Public Health Advisories on COX-2 and NSAIDs
In May 2009, the Federal Drug Administration also made an announcement in respect of NSAIDs and COX-2 Inhibitors detailing the dangers. Details of the announcement can be read here.
And in May 2009, the American Geriatrics Society removed NSAIDs from the list of approved medicines for adults aged 75 and older with chronic persistent pain. Read it here.
